What a week so far! I trapped Guiseppe last Thursday and brought him home. Not sure how this will go; he is a very feral feral. He is a small gray tabby, the color of fall. One of the 2 invisible kitties, along with Supermodel Kitty. They are excellent at blending into the brows and grays of leaves and trees. Guiseppe is small and skinny. He gets into spats when food bowls come, in the park, that is. The only physical contact we have had is me stretching the tip of my index finger to him, and him bringing the tip of his nose to it to make that brief contact.
So now he is in the bedroom exploring under cover of night, hiding at all other times. He hasn't eaten much but he has started eating. Having a cat in a crate for me is the most stressful thing. I have nightmares and it just destroys me. And having a cat in a crate who is terrified and hiding and making himself small and not eating: it is the worst of the worst. So he's out in the bedroom, for better and for worse.
We have to expand our catified outside spaces to include a yard and temperature controlled bunkhouse for new kitties as they arrive from the colony. Since our home is a tiny rented apartment, with a tiny rented yard, figuring out how to do this has been really hard. But we have settled on the Purr..fect Fence system combined with a small shed house to make into a bunkhouse with lots of shelves and bedding and air conditioning. the fence system will look great and so pass muster with my landlord who lives close enough that i walk on his driveway to get to my door. Close!
Below please see our facebook post for today. Please contact me if you would like to help!
who likes the exciting world of event fundraising? or any other kind! catlandia has an audacious plan to dramatically increase space for the colony cats we are rehoming even though we are still on a tiny piece of rented land. we will do what we can where we can.
we have decided to use the purr..fect fence system here. it will look good for our landlord and neighbors and will be great for kitties. so we'll need money for the fence system, laborers to put it up, and afterwards we will need massive catification of the area and of course the temperature controlled tiny bunk house.
this is not a plea for money at all. this is an invitation to be part of something really exciting. part of a group effort that will warm all our hearts and help to save the lives of the GPKs colony cats.
Operation Catification is a GO!
please call or text or email or pm or comment below. let's have an online or in person meeting next week. i have lots to share. if you think you don't know much about fundraising or construction...neither does catlandia...er...rox. but a handful of people with big hearts and supple minds can make miracles happen. i've seen it over and over. please join the team and help make this miracle happen now.
